The Drifter has undeniably established itself as a highlight of the Cub range. Originally released into the Australian market in 2020, the Drifter is still the only Australian Made Double Fold camper available, seamlessly combining the comfort and space of a caravan with the functionality and off-road prowess of a camper trailer.

In September 2022, we launched our first caravan – the Cub C16 – into the Australian market, backed by the Cub name and over 50 years of RV manufacturing experience. Although we’ve had a massively successful first step into a new territory with a luxury model, we knew that there was still a desire for a lightweight, quality Australian-made caravan capable of heading off-grid but without quite as many bells and whistles. We’ve listened to the feedback and we’re proud to introduce the L16 – the newest caravan in the Cub range.

After almost 2 years of intense research and development, Cub Campers is proud to announce the release of our first off-road caravan - the C16. Backed by over 50 years of RV manufacturing experience, Cub is known for producing high-quality campers that are built to withstand the toughest Australian conditions. This experience has carried over and we’ve used everything we’ve learned from building camper trailers to create a fully off-road caravan using the tough-as-nails Cub DNA. The C16 is purpose-built for going off the beaten track and staying there for as long as possible. With a tare of 2000kg, an ATM of 2700kg and an unladen ball weight of 140kg, it’s light to tow.

The original Cub Drifter was an iconic family off-roader that was first introduced in the 1970s.  Despite production being halted in the late 1990s, the trailer’s robust design and family-orientated setup with two large beds continues to be a favourite amongst campers all over the country.   

Back in June Cub Campers partnered with Camp Quality for their second annual Camp In. Camp Quality launched Camp In last year as a fun, at-home activity during the COVID-19 lockdown, asking Aussies to sleep away from their beds and raise funds for kids facing cancer.

Since its initial release in 2016 as the only Australian Made Forward Fold Camper Trailer, the Cub Frontier fast became our most popular model and has held onto that title for a little over 5 years. It is, by far, the easiest forward fold on the market to set up and built to handle the toughest conditions the Outback can throw at it, so it’s no surprise that it has become the camper Cub is best known for.

The Guild's mission is to ensure that all of its members not only commit to building their campers in Australia, using only Australian steel and canvas, but also adhere to strict quality audits and engineering compliance testing so that all campers are suited to withstand the harsh Australian conditions.

Restrictions are already starting to lift around the country, with several states allowing locals to go caravanning and camping once again, others are likely to follow soon. Experts are also predicting a boom in camping due to international travel being off the table for the foreseeable future, so if you’ve never had the opportunity to travel around this great country (or even if you have and just want to get out on another adventure), there’s never been a better time to get a camper trailer. Every year, the Caravan and Camping Industry Association, the peak industry body for NSW, hosts their Awards of Excellence event, which recognises businesses and individuals that excel in terms of service, innovation and best practice. CCIA President, Theo Whitmont said the Awards were particularly significant in 2019, which for the first time saw the number of domestic caravan, and camping holidays taken in NSW surpass 4.4 million trips.
