She recently returned from a three month trip around Australia in a Cub camper trailer with her family and while on the road, they made a film about safety in the great outdoors.

Matt Kennelly is our NSW Sales Manager, who you may recognise him from our various product and instructional videos, and he recently headed off to the Big Red Bash in a Cub Escape with his 13-year-old son, Max. For the uninitiated, the Big Red Bash is an annual music festival held on the Big Red Dune, around 35km from Birdsville in Outback Queensland and it attracts thousands of campers, backpackers, caravan and 4WD travellers from all over the country – making it a bucket list entry for many Aussie campers.

With trade show season upon us, those of you who are in the market for a new camper trailer are going to be spending a considerable amount of time looking at the various models of on the market. Although we would are hoping you will ultimately end up as a member of the Cub family, we understand that there are a lot of different models out there so we want to at least make sure that while you are considering your options, you have all of the necessary information to pick a unit that will best suit your needs. To do this, we have put together a list of aspects to look for and questions to ask the sales people that you speak to at the shows.

In January 2016, Nathan and Renee Helms did what many of us dream about but can never seem to bring ourselves to do: they packed up their lives, abandoned the 9-5 lifestyle and hit the road with a ute and a Cub camper trailer. With Melbourne in the rear-view mirror and the highway stretching across the horizon ahead of them, they set out with the goal of seeing everything that this great country has to offer. It’s been two and a half years since their departure from the daily grind and in that time, their four-year-old son Ryan has seen more of Australia than many of us may see in our lifetimes. They’ve also gained an impressive following on social media, with over 36,000 followers on Facebook who are all tagging along for the ride, enjoying a virtual journey across the country.

For years, my husband Tom and I had a distant dream of travelling Australia for an extended period of time. Soon after our baby Benji was born, we decided to take the plunge and turn that dream into a reality.

This Aussie success story began when retired pharmacist JK Fagan purchased a small block of flats and with an adjoining box trailer business in Lakemba in South West Sydney. The idea was to rent out the flats and outsource the business – but when JK’s son Roger came on board, he had other ideas.  

The Weekender 2018 is Cub’s most compact, light to tow trailer. It’s robust and build to last but there are plenty of other great reasons to consider these robust, yet lightweight, campers.
